Michigan has been the home of some great entertainment and entertainers. There are simply too many to list, but here are some highlights:
WWJ: Detroit's first radio station began in 1920.
WJR: Thinking that radio would not amount to much, The Detroit Free Press sold WJR in 1925.
WABX: One of the nation's first free-form radio stations where the DJ's played whatever they wanted.
WDIV-tv: First TV station in Michigan (1946) and the sixth in the nation.
Ted Nugent: He averaged more than 300 shows per year between 1967 and 1973.
Bob Seger: He ran high school track in Ann Arbor and was considered one of the state's best runners.
